I’ve just purchased a Nextbase Dashcam that came with a wired rear camera that is deigned to fix onto the rear window.
The front facing camera I installed without any issues and is working fine, however the rear mounted camera has me scratching my head somewhat…
So I had planned on running the...
...point with the vans 12v electrics? I’m sure I read somewhere that the 240v must be at least 30cm away from the 12v but I could be misremembering! I’ve done this already with my cableroutes/conduit.
Can I still ground 240v here?
@Dellmassive your advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Thanks Dellmassive, that very thick cable for 2.5mm twin! Think I will swap to the 2.5mm AMC 2 Core Thin Wall Cable (Flat Twin) from marine electricals which will be much easier to route as significantly less diameter...
Installing new alpine Halo head unit, 4 channel amp and powered sub under drivers seat...powered by aux batt under passenger seat...After recomendations on minimum length of RCA cables to reach under drivers seat if routed from head unit as per Dells image...? yes, i know...A. go measure it...it...
Hi all,
Currently in the middle of planning the electrical setup for my T6.1 LWB camper conversion and just wanted to get some opinions from people who have gone down a similar route.
The van already has the factory fitted auxiliary battery setup under the passenger seat along with the factory...
After routing my dc-dc starter to charger cable and fitting my earth under the passenger seat on Friday.
Today I set about completing the first stage of my 12v system (battery, earth, charger and buss bars)
Connected it all up and powered on. Battery happy and charger working.
Disconnected from...
I feel ashamed at how dirty mine is compared to yours 😂
Thanks for the photo, its useful to see whats behind all the stretchy carpet stuff thats been glued to the whole inside... is that a LWB? My C pillar is right up against the wheel arch.
My other option is simply to run the cable under the...
Hi all,
My van has a pop top fitted which makes routing cables very difficult!
I'm looking to get a 4.5mm twin flat cable to the bottom of the C pillar. Dropping down from roof level is near on impossible because I can't get a pokey stick in to feed the cable through, so I'm thinking of running...
Has anyone replaced the factory AGM under the seat with Lithium on a T6? How did you deal with the battery sensor / pyrofuse and coding? ... ---- There is no sensor on the leisure battery, and you can replace the fuse is with whatever you need.
If Lithium goes directly under the seat: does...
Hi everyone 👋
We have a VW T6 Transporter, 2016 (75 kW TDI, CXGB engine), and want to convert it for light camping use – nothing fancy, mainly:
some LED lighting in the back
charging for laptop and phones
possibly a diesel air heater later
The van came with a factory dual battery setup...
Here's an idea if resale is an issue. Before conversion run some 240v mains cable from under the bonnet through bulkhead and route it to under the driver's seat and leave plenty coiled up. Then if you feel you need it at a later date you just need to buy the CU and EHU inlet and connect up. You...
Also another plus for this frame (I'll confirm at a later date)
It looks like the side profile allows for a reasonable thick cable to be routed underneath the frame.
I'm planning on putting my 70mm² cable under there for earthing purposes.
It will be a couple of weeks until I find out for sure...
I have allll these considerations bouncing around in my head, thank you for such a meticulous response. I agree on the most part. I'm not a fan of the tubby van hat look and a slimline pop top would be great. I think it'll be HCC I use but not sure when. Need to get even more over time with work...

That's the factory leisure setup.
With the OEM split charge relay, and fuse.
That's what I had.....I removed the relay and fitted a DC DC. Charger.
Replaced the fuse and battery.

Hi all,
I’ve just picked up a 2018 T6 Startline and found this under the passenger seat (photo attached).
From what I can tell it looks like a factory auxiliary battery setup, but it doesn’t seem to have the usual visible fuse board / split charge setup that I’ve seen in other posts.
I’m...
The Clayton is installed in a cupboard that’s easily accessible and next to the fuse board so if it’s all done locally to the main unit then should be fairly easy but I’m not sure if any cables or fuses need upgrading. I have space under the main unit to fit the supercharger if needed.
Sorry, yes I forgot to add that bit. I installed it with a friend who is really clued up but I could have done it myself. Are you able to routecables? I guess you will install the supercharger near your Clayton so you can use the existing cable and then add cable to the Clayton?
