My T6 has a solid bulkhead, so the interior mirror serves no function. I'd like to remove it, but it has the rain sensor behind it. The easiest solution would appear to be to somehow get the mirror off the ball that it is attached to, but it doesent seem to be keen to be pulled off. Has anyone...
On a lighter note (for me), i ordered my last van a T5.1 as a 102ps. It was in their compound for a few days but the day before i was to collect it, they realised that they had ordered a 140ps 6 speed in error. I got a grovelling call from them, asking if i could "help them out with the cost...
Both my girls started their driving with a diesel Yaris. We still have two of them 10 years later. One has done 165k and the other 205k. Totally reliable, even the air con still works on the '58 plate highest miler. No cam belt, 65mpg. Just discs and pads (didnt change the rear shoes until...
I would check insurance implications first, and bear in mind that in the future if you sell it, as a cat S it may be harder to sell, and for a lower price than otherwise, so the initial savings diminish. VW's paintwork warranty (for what its worth.. ) would be void.
10 years ago, i bought my two daughters a Toyota Yaris Diesel each. They dont have a belt, they have a chain, with no interval for replacement. Servicing of both has been spasmodic at best, usually when the brake pads are down to the metal. One has done 203000, and the other 165000 miles. Whats...
I had a similar situation when i had a T5. A driveshaft went, and although it was under warranty, they reckoned the item was on 6 weeks back order. I phoned another main dealer , and the first one i phoned had one on the shelf. My dealer had to get it from them.
I had an annoying dashboard rattle when the van was nearly new. It could be heard slightly louder with the entertainment system removed, but i couldn't pinpoint it. The dealer failed miserably at rectifying it, despite hearing it.
Anyway, it was to do with the heater matrix. Wedging some cloth...

Is car insurance valid without tax?
Your car insurance might be valid even if your car isn’t taxed. Some insurance companies may have it as a condition of insurance though, so it’s important to check your policy
Some insurance companies insist that a vehicle has to be taxed for the insurance to be valid, so i would have thought that if you had notified DVLA of a change of owner, the vehicle has become untaxed and the insurance could be void.
I would have thought that the easiest way to decide what a performance filter does, is to remove your air filter completely, drive around the block, and see if there is any improvement. If not, then its unlikely one would help.
I nearly bought a written off t5.1 from a mates company. It had done 135k. In the end i didn't buy it and the insurance company disposed of it. I happened to check on the mot history site and it had lost 100k of its mileage and been converted to a motorhome. The following year, the mot mileage...
Perhaps some feedback on the condition of the removed belts at given age and mileage would be more helpful for those that are considering extending the service interval.
We have a VW Golf with a different arrangement - its factory fitted. From what i can gather there must be some heating elements along the bottom of the screen . Its superior to the van and any other vehicle we've had with a heated screen. There's no switch, the heater controls must activate it...
