Wiper Motor Replacement

Hi all,

My wiper motor recently gave up on me. So ordered a replacement. Fitted a new part, re fitted the wipers and the spindles seem to be going the wrong way as if the wipers would go own into the engine then back up to the top of the windscreen and not from the bottom of the windscreen(where i first set the wipers) to the top.

I fitted it exactly as it came off and ordered the right part? Am I missing something?

Thanks

Did you have to swap anything over to the new motor? If you had to switch over the part that attaches to the motor spindle, then I'd hazard a guess that's been put on in the wrong position

I swapped the completed motor and swing arm (with the ball joint) over and then re attached the long arms to the swing arm. So the complete change of the motor and swing arm.

Then I refitted it to the van. Then when I switch the wipers on the spindle turns right first (down) then comes left (up)

Hope that makes sense?

It's got to be assembled wrongly.

Are you saying the motor came complete with the linkages less the wiper arms?

Thanks I've just ordered one that states RHD.

No it was just the motor no linkage arms or wiper arms

I can't talk for transporters, but a lot of other manufacturers will have a marking on the motor/bracket to show where it goes.

You'll have to remove the wiper arms, disconnect the little arm on the motor spindle. Then I'd switch the wipers on for one wipe so the motor gets into the parking position. When doing that, check which way the motor rotates when it sets off. Then you will have to work out where to position the arm back on the motor so it rotates the correct way. I think it's connected 180 degs out

Done that and it rotates clockwise first hence now ordering a RHD see if its different. All wiper arms are in the same position (in park mode) same as the Link arms and the spindle

I've changed the motor with the swing arm not moved, touched, rewired or anything else just a direct swap of the motor
