Just picked up my 2018 Kombi T32 Highline and using the wipers thisIMG_20250529_070711.webp morning the operation seems a bit strange.
When in intermittent mode (1 click) they start off OK. However, after a couple of sweeps they start wiping as if in normal full mode (2 clicks) Is this normal, do I have auto wipers fitted. Picture of wiper stalk if it helps.

Auto wipers are normally with auto headlights. Do you have those? Did you try moving the button on top of the wipers to the left?

Looks like you’ve got the frequency setting tab for intermittent wipers maxed out.

I can see what your thinking there. However, what was happening is the wipers started in intermittent mode as expected. Then when I changed the frequency button they started to sweep as if in normal mode (2nd Click)

I do have auto headlights so maybe linked to them. I couldn't see a windscreen sensor. Hence the enquiry. I think I need to download the owners manual and see whats what.

Sensor is behind mirror, make sure that area is good clean and degreased (of course it's the hardest to reach!) as the behaviour you describe is what my auto wipers do if the first couple of wipes smear over the rain sensor.

They are in auto on the first click, so they do an intermittent to start then work out how heavy the rain is and speed up accordingly.
Was it raining at the time?
