Winding out fiamma awning

Hi all

I have a fiamma 45s which normally my gf will wind out meanwhile I’ll hold up and take the majority of the weight as it is being extended. Once it is extended far enough we will then drop the legs.

Is this being too excessive? Could the awning be wound out by one person to a certain length without doing any damage?

I was shown it being wound out about a foot or less, enough room to get the legs in or out.

Then drop them out and extend down, and shift them a couple of times as you wind out.

You can wind it out about 2 or 3 feet (I prefer less than 3) and drop the legs.
