Canopy - Pull out vs Wind out

I've thought about it long enough and want to install a side awning canopy into my van. I'm now stuck between either a pull out style or wind out style. With approx £200 difference in between them. I'd been looking at Direct 4x4 for the pull out and either a Fiamma or Thule for the wind out. Just trying to evaluate if £200 extra is worth it to wind it out. Add to this the Mrs who thinks the whole canopy/awning thing is a waste of time anyway, so what ever I choose it needs to look good etc.

For me the type of awning depends on how you use the van. If you are setting up camp for a few days then the roll out awning is fine. We have the Fiamma F35 pro and if only stopping for a night don’t bother with the awning. Longer stays we prefer this awning as we fit extra rafter poles, side rails and storm straps so we don’t need to bother about the weather. If you like to keep on the move, as some do, and tend to move on most mornings, I would think a wind out type would be more useful and accept in severe weather probably just wind it in.

Personally I'd go pull out (less to go wrong possibly?) and I'd spend the 200 quid on beer.

I do like beer ...
