The dipped projector unit in one of my Van Style headlights has come loose - not had a chance to look whether it's a broken adjuster or come off its motor.
I was browsing eBay for replacements, just in case, when I came across this:

Yeah, that's right. I'll just take off my OEM LED headlights and replace them with these Chinese ones...
Why would you?

Repair workshops saving / making a lot of extra £

The last couple of Chinese cars we've owned have been better made and more reliable than the European ones we had prior.

The days where chinese stuff was automatically shite are long behind us - these could be decent, or they could be crap. We simply can't assume on the basis of country or origin alone.

Agreed, they train and retain engineers, in the UK we underpay them so they get jobs elsewhere.
Chinese engineers are heavily involved in Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, something the UK can’t do alone it seems.
Anyone remember British Leyland?

Just had a couple of weeks with the family in Spain. They flew out and we were in the van, on tour. They hired a car at the airport, an Ebro. I immediately assumed it was Chinese. Apparently Ebro was an old Spanish marque that had been bought and revived by the Chinese company Chery, similar to what happened to MG. The car was on a par with any quality European marque, Audi/BMW/VW etc. we’re doomed.
