They paid £31k flat, no VAT.
 
There is no vat. The dealer it's selling it at 39890k. If you bought it as an individual then you've already paid the vat so it's no longer vat qualifying. Selling it back to them for 31 means they'll make a healthy profit!
Vans that are sold + vat mean they've been bought from vat registered companies so the vat can be passed on.
 
Feel for you on this one mate, i swapped my stunning t5.1 in for my present t6 camper. Thought i got a half decent price for the T5 (12k) then made the worst mistake by looking on their forecourt two weeks later to see it was 5k above what i sold it for. All the things the salesman knocked me down on ie tyres, stone chips weren't done. Following day it was sold. They have unfortunately as the other guys have stated got you by the short and curlies. I did however find a snickers bar in the fridge of my t6.......... i ate it. That'll show em.
 
So it’s not a 2k mark up then, it’s the best part of a 9k mark up.
 
I thought you were paid plus vat mate, I officially retract what I said, that's a very excessive mark up and frankly taking the pee.
 
Maybe a route to have taken was to get a £32000 loan @ 3% over 12 months, which would cost £515.00 in interest payments. Pay the finance off. Then advertise it privately. Once sold, pay the loan back. Hindsight I know is a wonderful thing, but £9k profit for dealer must mean that there was some more money in it for you.
 
I've just seen the this thread; Caravelles are advertised as CARS (not vans) in auto trader, because they are cars, and so Californias (infact the vans are linked thro' the car section as well??); there are 129 for sale.
We kept our last Vel for 12 years; might do the same with this one.
 
I need to value my Velle for sale, but i have no idea what it's worth. Am i allowed to put the details up here and could the specialists amongst you help me out with a value?

I’m happy to do that, but right now I’m doing my research into how much it’s actually worth, which is what I need help with. What’s the best way to do that without breaking group rules?

Somewhere between 28 and 35k I reckon.
So many factors could be taken into account that it's a wild guess ball park I'm giving..
The main push up will be that its 4motion and 204 dsg. Oryx White was an option paint, expensive as well..
Think about what you want for it, what you would want to pay if you were buying and price accordingly to allow for wiggle room.

No warranty will let the value drop a bit as well in retail..

Hope my forthpence is somewhat helpful..
 
On a side note.. depending where you are, might be interested in the under seat drawers and the block out blinds in the sleep pack... :)
Maybe even the bars and box as well...
 
Thanks Tim, i‘m in Tunbridge Wells. I’m going to be listing the box on Marketplace today, I wasn’t sure about leaving the bars on the van or not to completeth3 ‘look’, as it has black sidebars too.. forgot to put that in the original description
