I write this post to help and assist those of your suffering from the ‘not in the UK database issues’. I have been involved on here in numerous discussions on getting my Weinsberg MQ500 on a VW T6.1 chassis on the UK VW database.

This week my vehicle battery has failed and it supposed to be covered by the warranty.

I called UK VW Assist UK for a callout, Vehicle not recognised we cannot help: not in the DB. Bye!

I engaged with a great lady on VW UK Ciustomer care and she investigated it all day Friday calling me back several times as promised. She was like a dog with a bone.

Upshot it’s in the German database, fully warranted for 3 years and she gave me a number to call which is German VW assist. You need your VW vehicle VIN - NOT - the Weinsberg VIN

+49 5361 2759999

They were not impressed and have emailed direct to eurohelptheaa@theaa confirming a 3 years roadside assistance.

German VW assist told me to call them this morning and it should be resolved - it is. VW assist will be here within an hour! My vehicle is now in he UK VW assist DB.

Madness but a result!

Never head of a conversion company having a VIN ?
Glad it's sorted Mick
Most motorhome builders do it. My Chausson had a separate VIN as well.

The issue we have is the vehicle is registered as a Weinsberg not a VW. Hence why we cannot get a service plan or extended warranty.

Update: AA attended, condemned the battery (8.7v cranking voltage ), made an appointment on the spot, AA VW Tech (who knew there was such a thing) here Monday between 10 & 12. Result. All sorted for spring camp.
Have you got a battery maintainer plumbed in Mick, I bet there's quite a draw on that SB with all the door opening/features on your wagon. Glad you got there though!

Yes I do. It’s a timed maintainer. Switches on the EHU daily overnight. Whilst in Oz my tracker and alarm sent me low voltage warnings which is why I knew.

I now leave it on permanently cos ya never know what’s happening in the background.
