Any advice please! Webasto heater is less tan 2 years old and previous the controller was not operating properly. Had controller replaced 7 months ago and then heater was working up until now! Really wound up as it has let me down again. The controller turns itself on by itself but does not or can operate the heater. Surely it cant be another faulty Control panel in such a short time? Any time i have really needed the heater it has let me down. Will ring suppliers on Monday, just wanted to have a rant and some advice Please

Which heater then which controller, the Multicontrol and Smartcontrol are nowhere near as robust as the older controllers, the knob assemblies are very flimsy ( people like these modern ones though - just bling IMHO).

Thanks Oldie, you helped me out before. Much appreciated! It’s the multicontrol one. The heater is only 14 months old. I wouldn’t mind i have only used the heater a handful of times. It happened first 7 months ago. The installers replaced the control which solved it and then 7 months down the line the same thing is exactly happening again with controller staying permanently on but not able to start heater???? it just seems to much of a coincidence 2 faulty controllers in 14 months???

What are you getting on the display? If you are only getting the heater model number or a heat symbol there is a chance that you are losing the W-bus connection to the heater either through a faulty connection somewhere down the loom ( the yellow wire) or there is an ecu fault to do with the W-bus communication.
Did the installers pull the fault codes from the original controller? Or even the heater ecu? It would be handy to know what they were, and now also on the new controller. They should have given you a customer report with the errors on.

No it was just a straight swap over with a new control. The last control came up with a T46 error code for a bit and then went back to green. At the moment my control now is just permanently on green and when try to turn on it the display just lights up white with time and heating symbols but no operation

W-bus connection is dodgy going by that.
The previous error on the 1st controller is the switch output from the controller ( not used on STC and EVO heaters) was shorting - someone left the switch output wire uninsulated and it touched ground somewhere most probably. Could well be happening still if the cause was not remedied on the previous controller error.
Was this a Webasto dealer installation or a converter who just sticks them in and hopes for the best?
You didn't get a Customer Report previously then - indicates a converter who doesn't know the heaters to me.

Oldie much appreciated
So useful your advice. Was a Converters but rest of work was top class. Not happy about another 5 hour round trip but will be ringing them tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not to a big job then if have to re wire it. Thank you once again for taking the time to give me advice
