Water tanks while not in use

We drain ours (drinking and waste) on return from trip. Then before we leave put about 20lts in with some Milton sterilising tablets in:Milton Sterilising Tablets 40 Pack - Boots
A day of so before leaving open water tap and allow the water to drain into waste tank. We do not travel with water onboard as a waste of fuel, so have a 10lt portable container and use that until we arrive on site, or if wild camping just buy a 5lt bottle when in shop.
