Water in rear light

Noticed that I have some water in the left rear light (standard halogen) on my T6. It all works - can I take it off, dry and re-seal it? Or do I have to get a new one?

You should be able to dry it out but you’ll need to find out how the water is getting in first.

Light is off now - and I cannot see any problems - no cracks, lense looks fixed OK. Seals on the bulbs look OK. but quite a few drops of water came out. Now resting on the top of the AGA to dry out. Any clues what to look at?

I’d submerge it in fresh water with the lens facing up and see if any air bubbles escape.

Found it - there is a tiny seperation between the lense and the light. Just here where the screw driver is. I will squeze some silicone into there but it is quite a tight space so might be a bit tricky.

They come up for sale on the forum every now and again. May be worth replacing if they do.

I had an Audi A4 rear light that let in water (my fault in being a bit rough when removing it) and I never managed to re-seal it.

Now found more points that let water in. Yup - replacement needed. Offers gratefully received. 2018 LWB Tailgate.
