hi I have purchased a lovely van, private sale. Previous owner brought it from a supposedly reputable conversion company . I have all paper work re conversion from van company and have also have a electrics problem. Should that warranty be honoured to myself now as new owner.

Yes it should be. It's the conversion which is warranted, not the owner.

I thought it was the conversion but they are saying it’s the person who initially purchased the van. Without naming and shaming them YET, Need to see how I stand.

That doesn’t sound fair. Before you name the converter, what’s the problem ?

Told warranty out with change of ownership

Just name them - no point hiding it - there are comments on dealers here where they have been countered with good responses and this could help you if someone else has been in this position.

A warranty is on the product not the owner.

If you haven’t already put the complaint / request in an email, if they reply with the same response tell them you are taking it to Trading Standards and leave a Business Review on this forum.
