Hi does anyone have any recommendations for a good specialist around Leeds West Yorkshire, a few things I’m after

- tracking and steering wheel alignment (slightly tilted to right) had it tracked by vw main dealer in Wakefield but no better
- possible upgrade of suspension shocks, lowered 40mm on standard at moment
- interior upgrades
-new wheels and tryes (all terrain spend a lot of time on mud)
-general maintenance

Thanks

Scott

Hi,

Did you ever find anyone. I just been Kwick fit on their hunter machine. Been twice now, Still pulling to the left even though toe is correct. Along with other values that can’t be changed

No never found anyone, don’t take to kwik fit whatever you do!

Bram Racing in Castleford for Hunter alignment. And Andi at Not Just Campers in Wakefield for van upgrades

Might be a bit out of way but Ian Brown tyres in Malton. 4 wheel laser alignment, spot on for us about £75:

Hi, got my first mot and a service at 14000 miles. Any recommendations for good garage to use? I am in Leeds. What ££££ should I be looking at for service, it has had 2 oil/filter changes up to now, will it be a full service ?
It is a 2020 T6 150bhp highline fully converted camper.

Thanks,

Gary.

I would get it all done slightly early so you can get it properly looked over and then sort anything under warranty before it expires.

Sorry can’t recommend a garage in Leeds.

I have only owned the van since September, would I still be able to claim under warranty if there were any issues with not being the original purchaser? Would that mean I would need to take it to a VW garage?
Thanks in advance!

Check out IVC Leeds. Vag specialists. Been there with the bus and my car too. Can’t remember a price but can dig out an invoice if you like.

However if in warranty then I’d go to main dealers until it’s up, as they’ll be funny if you’ve had work done elsewhere when trying to claim something on warranty.

Would be worth considering fixed price 2 service plan with VWFS, or ‘all in’ plan including 2 services and 2 years warranty and roadside assistance. You might need to take it out nearer the time.
A few threads here if you search.

I’ve tried a few around Leeds and Sheffield and found VW Van Centre Cleckheaton to be the best of a bad bunch. I’m only still using VW as I have the ‘all in plan’.

Hi all,

Thanks for all your replies. I might have a problem with warranty as digging through the paperwork, i found the following:

Date of first registration - 29/05/2020
Oil & filter service - 21/05/2021 6197 miles VW Garage
Oil & filter service - 19/05/2022 8040 miles Non- franchised garage - got a receipt.
1st Mot & service - Due May 2023 approx 14500miles

I suppose my question is, although the previous owner had the oil & filter changed at 8040 miles, as he did not use a VW garage, does this invalidate the warranty or could this be deemed an additional service to the ones required. I ask, as if what little of the warranty remains is invalid, there is no point in putting the van into VW for this service and mot just in case any issues are found that would have been covered under warranty.

Gary.

It’s under main dealer warranty until 3 years old.

Doesnt matter, as long as its done at a VAT registered garage and you have the invoice/receipt then its fine

Lookup 'european block excemption' if you want to know more

As long as it was service to VW spec with Vw parts or those of the same quality you will be fine.
Just looked at my build sheet. Service code is Q18 which is flexible - 2 years or 24k. As mine had oil and filter done at VW at 12 months - 6k miles, it is now due again May 2023. So, the unofficial oil filter change at 8000k miles - 24 months surely should not matter? Admittedly, if I took it to VW this time and they realised the filter wasn’t genuine VW (it might be, I have not checked), they might be funny but if I went to an independent and had this service done with genuine parts, it would still be in warranty until end of May so I could then try VW for 2 year service plan. Does that seem right or am I missing something?
