Excuse my thickness
When you say DAB issues is that to do with the head unit… I still have the original OEM radio in my T6… so people then saying it interferes with the radio and doesn’t work?

And me, I’m interested to find out feedback on the gbrite ones even though they are a few hundred quid more as the issues with the vland ones are holding me off. Maybe I’m best to start another thread specifically about the gbrite lights to get feedback.Yes, if you read back though the thread you will see there are some radio interference and levelling issues, but not everyone, it’s holding me back from buying them atm

I desperately need better lights than these H4 candles though !
Yes, I’ve started a new one specifically aimed at anybody with experience of the Gbrites. I’m sure folks have had them but not much info and feedback ( positive or negative). Hopefully they’re worth the extraIf there's not any feedback on the Gbrite ones then please buy some and then we can all read what they're like!
I don't think I would buy the Vland ones again, yes the beam is great and they look nice but the flimsy Chinesy feel to how they adjust the level and dodgy radio signal is just not good enough I think.
And then dealing with the seller is been a pain the arse. It's nice how it says you get a years warranty but that means f*** all if they don't respond to your messages or promise you to send a new one and then dont.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying but I want to stay on the legal side of things. I’m very friendly with my MOT guy having taken 4 or 5 vehicles every year for the last 20 odd years and don’t want to put him in the position of having to tell me they’re not mot compliant when I already know it. ( He has already commented on the subject to me too). I don’t mind shelling out for something better but not the oem Vw prices .If you've got H4 headlights and just want them to be brighter and not spend a fortune then bung in brighter lamps, this has been going on since the start of the forum.
Personally, Novsight LED H4 lamps have served me for 6 yrs now (the same pair) MOTs have been passed, oncoming drivers haven't been permanently blinded and my DAB radio works...

£59 well spent, there's a video on YT I normally trot out as well but spending between a monkey and a grand on aftermarket headlights to mimic VW LED headlights is bonkers and they're still not as good as the factory option... just saying.
Approval by who ?? I’m not under any warranty so don’t have to satisfy VW.Just because they are aftermarket doesn’t mean they can’t be road legal. Apparently they carry the E mark and are completely road legal in the uk. I’m sure not everything doesn’t have to carry the Vw logo to be legal . What is for sure though, putting led bulbs in a non sealed unit headlight is definitely not legal even though they do definitely improve vision and safety, I suppose that’s the madness of rules sometimes.Fair enough but realistically unless you're fitting all the stock VW parts that are installed by VW at the factory in the first place then it's aftermarket and as such won't carry type approval and be anymore road legal in the UK than H4 LED lamps.
I’m sceptical these cheaper aftermarket LED headlight units are actually legitimately’E’ marked and fully approved for road use. I imagine they just put the relevant marking into the cast for the plastic and have never had them tested.Approval by who ?? May well be legit but the cynic in me does wonder. I watched an investigation video into supplements (I know it’s not quite the same) that were bought and branded by various companies - all legit and big names. These supplements had lab test certificates from a well respected lab too. Problem was these certificates were a forgery in the sense that one was legit and then manipulated to cover the other product lines. The testing of the product (by the two most respected labs in the field) revealed it did not contain what it was supposed to.I searched and found that Vland has its certificates online Certificates - IATF 16949| ISO:9001| DOT| E-MARK| CCC|
From experience it’s not just that one issue. I mentioned a few above and can list others if you like?Seems the issue is the angle of headlights, assuming drivers are not adjusting their lights, new vehicles are meant to have mandatory automatic headlight levelling by September 2027...
