Anyone considered a new Vito 119 Sport? I’m in the market for a new van and heard their lead times are much better….Anyone have any experience with them that can put me off ? Had a Vito before my current T6 and the VW is way better in every department but haven’t looked or driven the new Vito range. Can’t find much in the way of upgrades either or conversions….but have seen a couple of high spec models that don’t look too bad…

Cant comment particularly on the 119. I test drove a 116 a month or so ago, about 3 years old with 50k on the clock.
I had high hopes, but it drove like shit compared to my T6, and tbh compared to a Vivaro and Expert.
No acceleration, and piss poor brakes, unloaded.
Many have a very poor payload too.

The chap who installed my T6's cruise control test drive it at the end, and said it handled much better than his Merc.
Good luck with the wisting times for a new van. It sounds very depressing

Just swapped a 119 sport (2017) for a new Sportline. Had 5 years and 100,000 miles trouble free, was sad to see it go. With the right extras and mods it’s as good as a Transporter in my opinion.

Yeah cheers guys, i think I’d end up deeply regretting if i changed to a Merc

got a few guys on teh lookout for a new/nearly new T6 with my desired spec. None seem to have sunroofs like mine, and apparently its no longer an option at factory now?? Seems daft on a van but I’ll really miss not having one

Looked at a 119 sport when I bought my 6.1 about 18 months ago and for me there was no comparison. I had the previous model vito116 sport for about 8 years and although it was nice and pretty reliable my new 6.1 was much nicer to drive and just feels better built.

Had one new in 2016, Xlwb crew van 119 auto. Drove really nice. Was littered with issues dealer and manufacturers generated. Dealer had a go and made more issues. After seven weeks it went back for full refund. Nice product, just not as nice as a T6.
Fast forward to earlier this year. Sky installer reversed into my van twice. After weeks of trying to get Sky to deal with there mess. I had a lwb Vito 114 auto for five days. It was nice, my favourite feature was the steering wheel, just felt more comfortable than my t6. Did all I asked, towed well and was okay. Just not a t6. Performance and brakes were good. Did not find that an issue.

Wait for the VW, or find a good used one

I had a T5 Sportline and loved it, sold it 8 years later and bought a V Class 220 Sport and hate it so I can't wait for my new T6.1 to arrive.
