Theres one in the window, sticker in engine bay, build sticker in drivers footwell and i think theres another one under drivers seat but none of them are etched or stamped
I know you always used to get one stamped into the floor often beside drivers seat on older vehicles but not sure thats the done thing anymore ?
Another way to check would be to scan the vehicle with VCDS/vagcom, that always lists the VIN number at the top of the scan

Mine in window sure looks like a sticker but there has been a requirement for x years to have the plate stamped.
Mines stamped also a 16 plate surely it’s not another little bit of cost cutting from WV?

Sticker on lower dashboard, visible through the windscreen.
Just looked in the owners manual and that’s where it says it should be. No mention of it being stamped anywhere.

is it safe to give out your VIN number?
I always thought you did not give out your vin number. However looking on line the general opinion is that it is safe to do so and that you should give out your vin number for buyers to be able to check the history of the vehicle. WhT do others think? Thanks again.
