I'm interested in getting a new head unit with Apple CarPlay. I have a T5.1 with an old Kenwood head unit. It has a DVD player that links to a rear screen. I want to retain the rear screen for passengers and watching whilst stationery but obviously DVDs are old technology. The ideal situation would be to connect the head unit to a fire stick or iPad via the HDMI and stream Netflix to the rear screen. The 8019/8020 head unit appears to be popular on this site and I wondered if anyone has done anything similar?
I have downloaded the manual and I can see it has HDMI input and video RCA output but does this mean it will be able to connect and play to a rear monitor?
