Victron charger

Hello

Currently away for 9 nights, second night last night and noticed that the hookup wasn't giving any power to the PMS.

It was all working when I set up.

I'm moving sites today, I'm hoping it's the sites electric and not the Van.

However if it is a problem with the vans PMS am I able to plug the hook up lead, with a converter on the end to a three pin plug directly into the Victron IP22 12/15 charger so I can keep it topped up?

I'll only have 12v from the battery but I can cope with that as long as the batteries topped up

If I’ve understood this correctly. You want to plug your Victron mains charger directly into the EHU cable and charge the leisure battery and bypass the PMS (not sure what PMS is)
Then yes, it’ll work and be fine. You will be reliant on the electrical protection provided by the site EHU supply though.

Is it a PMS3? Have any of the circuit breakers tripped?

Yes. Everything else is working on the PMS, (power supply management) so I have 12v and lights all working, but the red light on the 'charger supply' is not showing and the three pin plugs are working.

None of the breakers have moved.

The site checked the hook up cable and it was working fine, as was the sites bollard supply so it's got to be something within the PMS or the hook up connection on the van.

I wonder if there's a fuse on the inside of the PMS accessible from the inside only.

Maybe a daft thought, but this happened on a couple of occasions with our bilbos PMS - The light itself is a rocker switch, and inside a cupboard it was easy to accidentally switch this off - everything else worked because the red-light was essentially the charger on/off switch.

Yes I know what you mean, theres no light when the switch is in the ON position

There is a fuse on the rear of the PMS3 but not actually sure what it’s function is

Thanks for your replies. Home now. Just an update, the Victron charger plugged into the hookup lead via a three pin adapter lead worked fine. Was able to keep the battery charged up and have 12v and fridge working.

Not looked yet.

FIrst easy thing to check will be the 20amp fuse on the PMS.

I'll need to take the Victron charger out and remove a wooden panel to get to the back of it though.

If its not that I think it could be the hookup connector on the van, maybe a wire loose or perished over time.

I know in the hours leading up to finding it not working it did throw it down, I'm wondering if some water has got into the vans hookup side and caused a short
