I have the older PMS 3V system. I’m about to change the leisure battery as it’s failed after 5 1/2 years. Before replacing I thought I’d check the PMS 3V charger. When on EHU and ‘van’ selected it puts out 13.2 volts (seems low). If I switch the EHU to ‘off’ then there is obviously no charging but a discharge of 180 mA from the leisure battery is always present. I’ve removed all fuses and am positive that nothing else is connected so the discharge must be within the PMS. The voltage indicator is still reading but surely that cannot take 180 mA! Turning the selector to ‘off’ removes the discharge (effectively disconnects the PMS).
I normally have the starter and leisure batteries on external intelligent trickle charge so the PMS is only working when away and on EHU.
So, firstly does this charge voltage and discharge current seem normal and acceptable for a PMS 3? And secondly does anyone have an internal circuit diagram of the PMS 3?
Any help much appreciated.
