VCDS Hex V2 Cable

I bought this in June last year from Gendan Automotive and used one of the 3 VIN’s on my old van. I thought I’d use it when I was fettling my new van when it arrived this year but haven’t needed it so decided to sell it on for someone else to use the remaining 2 VIN’s. In as new condition.

Does this work on T6 mate? Or is the v2 for T6.1?
Also can it be upgraded to multiple vins?

Definitely ok for a T6 but I’m unsure about upgrading. Best bet would be to contact RossTech or have a search in here maybe.

Would the VCDS software be downloadable a second time with a second hand cable?

"Please note that the HEX-V2 interface does not ship with software on CD - the full, licensed version of the software can be downloaded on receipt of the interface (full details provided with interface)"

Or can anyone can download the software for free?

Software is available for anyone to download for free directly from ross tech website
Install the software and plug the lead in and you are good to go

This is a current lead and good for all vehicles old and new

Just be aware that upgrading the vin limit will probably require the lead to be re-registered to the new owner which i think the manufacturer will charge $99 for
If you are happy with the 2 vins left and are not worried about upgrading then its not an issue
