Vankraft...brilliant. Recliner Seat Brackets.

Todays little job fitted the 10 degree Vankraft bracket to the front double seat .

What a great piece of kit a lot more comfortable and enabling the back to fold down .

Really easy to fit about 30 mins and all done .

See recline in pics before and after .

Can I jump on this post …. We had one fitted. Not sure what we are doing wrong, its stuck in either recline or fully folded … no inbetween which makes me not able to swivel it . I am sure it will be me missing something? Thanks you

I half swivel my seat (anticlockwise), take the head rest off (I only have one on) and then fold the seat fully and finish the 180 degree turn and push the seat back up. Works great.

I will give that a go thank you. Is yours always in the slight backwards recline? Or does it go back to the straight up position ever ?

No, only fully reclined (10 degrees) or fully flat. I don't think there is version that does reclined, normal and folded is there? I could be wrong. Would love one that allowed you to set different positions.

I guess it's hard to manufacture as it would need be pretty solid to work for crash testing.

That’s reassuring thank you @soldas . Right off to master this swivel now without the headrest cheers 👍🏼

FWIW. I've got the Vankraft reciner bracket on my double seat along with a Kiravans swivel and it's easy enough to do without folding the back down or doing anything with the headrest or handbrake which stays on (we only have the headrest by the window fitted). I've been using that combo for about 4 years now so maybe it just takes a bit of practise,

Got a non reclining, non folding, non Vankrafted, plain vanilla double seat, it's on a Kira Van swivel and sometimes it's a piece of duff to turn around and will happily slide all over the place during the turning ceremony, obviously this is when parked, in gear, handbrake off and fully down.
However more often than not we rock up on site, the roof is up in 30 seconds but I then spend the next 10 minutes trying to turn the poxy seat without ripping the drivers seat arm rest off and having to open the passenger door as the seat seems to expand into a three seater and keeps catching on the handbrake which some knob left sticking up... :geek: 🤕

Glad I'm not the only one

Swap to a sliding swivel base. Easy peasy... no need to drop the handbrake, no faffing about.

I always thought the handbrake dropping thing was for when you had a swivel drivers seat. As motion above, I don't have to drop my handbrake but I will admit that there is a little bit of rubbing as the seat goes past. In the beginning, I always dropped the handbrake but one day left it on by mistake and hey presto....

When I said dropping the handbrake I had meant simply releasing the handbrake which after you've done on sloping ground 🤫 you then remember to knock the van into gear first next time.
The Kira swivel on ours must be a slider one then as you can push the dual seat completely back to the dashboard when turned.

@Stay Frosty. I understood what you said but I just don't need to touch my handbrake - it simply stays on when swivelling. On the sliding thing, TBH, I've never noticed how far mine would go but suspect it would be the same as yours - however, the big but would be that mine couldn't be secured in that position (when swivelled, I always tighten the rear fasteners).

Mine is a rusty lee sliding swivel, which can be pulled into the back of the van to roughly level with the fridge and then spun around.

Have to admit I don't refix the seat when it's reversed as I'm thimble sized and sometimes wiggle the seat around to plonk my legs across to the drivers seat and sit across the width of the van reading my latest Enid Blyton thriller, just finished "Five go Mad on Kirrin Island" where they laid waste to a meth lab and sheep rustling gang.:geek:

Hi, what one?

Sorry ignore, just saw a later reply but another question

Do you have a VW heated seat as I was told, I would have to remove the heating part due to the cable connecting to the seat though is disconnected before moving, comes up through the floor and the kiravan base has a hole for it but the new base on the sliding swiral does not have this cable hole

Thanks
