Van won’t lock

Gave the van a good wash this afternoon and squirted wd40 silicone spray on the door locks - least I thought it was - after my alarm just went off I went outside to check it over and the drivers door open symbol is showing on the dash. The lock looked quite dry so went back to the garage to discover that I had squirted degreaser in it (same colour lid)😬. I’ve put a load of oil on it now and closed the door a few times - the mechanism does feel a bit dry when I’ve tried to operate it with a screwdriver. Anyway, the bugger still won’t lock and door open symbol still showing. Is my ‘oil’ a red herring or do I need to give it a thorough clean up and grease tomorrow?

After a Freezing cold 15 mile London marathon training run in the snowy, icy Peak District this morning I got home and got myself ready to go back out in the cold to try and fix the van. Had to leave it unlocked all night last night as the door open symbol was on the dash and it wouldn’t lock. Got to the van and pressed lock on the remote and it did it straight away. Unlocked it, open the door and then closed it again- warning symbol went off the dash and the bugger locked. I hate these gremlins but very thankful I didn’t have to stay out long🤞
