Van Plugs

Hi.

It is friction held. There is a felt liner that assists in the gripping of the saver and yes, the door closes fine.

Lee keeps his on his vehicle 24/7

Thanks
Just a bit of feedback. Mine is quite loose, certainly wouldn't be able to leave it in place while driving.

I'm going to find something to pad it out a bit so it has a better hold on the door.

Interested to see any other reviews as it seems a good idea.

Hi
Is there a felt lining on the inside of the slot? We had a couple slip through without the felt pad, so it may be missing that.

I've brought a different product but setup in the same way. Found this falls off also even with some felt. Looking for someone to add in some small magnets which feels like the better solution.

Hi everyone

Paul and Lee from Van-Plugs!!

We are Van-Plugs, the innovative campervan hook up for your vehicle, discreetly hidden under the badge in the grill and in some cases, the rear badge.

You may well have seen us at some of the trade shows over the last 2 years as we build some momentum.

We also stock replacement badges, awning clamps and awning savers. Our range is set to expand more this year, so please feel free to follow us on our social pages as well, plus our website which is about to see an upgrade.

Do you have any installation videos you can share of the grill hookup on a T6.1?

Hi all

We have added two new badges to our range, for those of you that may be interested:

Received my rear door plug. Is there any need for a rubber gasket, silicone sealant on the rear door plug? Don't want any water ingress as my doors are insulated.

The replacement version of the awning saver is better, but still not a tight fit. Certainly wouldn't consider leaving it fitted.

Will see how it goes when we are away at the end of the month.

Think it might need something else added to stop it from coming loose and moving around.

Hi
Not essentially, as any water ingress would drain through the holes in the bottom of the door. The main point would be to double prime any bare metal after the hole is cut.

I'm not sure whether adding a 0.5mm gasket would affect the bolt lengths....I would think not, so a personal choice really. We will have a chat about it though, a worthwhile addition to the kit for sure.

Thanks

Hi

That is a little strange to be honest. We will have a look at the tolerances, as it isn't something that we have struggled with, ever.

Thanks for the feedback

I know that front doors have these holes because the window slides and there's not a perfect seal, but as the rears have a fixed window or no window at all so I'm not sure water would normally drain through the door? Maybe if you have the rear wiper option. Either way, I don't want water entering and the door insulation I've fitted holding water.

I've just been out to take a photo of the door sample we used, here is the bottom edge. There are two holes from what I can see.

I have also spoken to Lee and his thoughts are that the clamps would provide tension in separate areas, causing the seal to distort. Mastic may work, but when you fit the plug, you have to rotate it 90 degrees which could get a little messy.

Thanks

Okay, well I'm not sure this is the right product for me then, don't want to create a leak where there wasn't one before. I probably should have bought the front one.

If you have not started cutting the hole in your van yet, we will happily swap for a front.

Thanks
Paul
