Updated to Android 14 now auto doesn't work

Recently updated my pixel 6 to Android 14. Not plugged into the van recently as I'm not using the van much. Plugged it into today to use maps and it's not connecting, not even trying. All I can think is the update has messed something up.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Mine worked fine on 13 well almost there's always been a few bugs. I'm now on 14 like I said and its like it doesn't see the phone anymore. I plug it in and nothing happens.

Just tried another cable and I've rebooted the head unit, still nothing

No idea what’s up with yours but I know in our work vans (transit customs) when we get new iPhones that are newer than the software on the headunit CarPlay sometimes stops working until we run an update on the van stereo then it all goes back to normal

Yeah I'm guessing it'll need updating, hate going to the dealer they're morons and always damage my van

My Android 9 and 11 phones are fine, 13 never worked reliably until I found a way to make the cable dumb.

I've seen folks suggest clearing the WiFi and Bluetooth on both handset and head unit and also deleting the storage from Android Auto in the app menu to get your best chance of everything starting from scratch. Best to do both with the phone away from the van or on airplane mode as Android Auto has a habit of automatically fixing itself if it has one of its connections running. Handy most of the time but a right bugger when you are trying to reset everything.
