Update Patch To Fix Addblue Problem- Anyone Else Waiting Or Aware Of This?

I posted on another thread last night here. I thought I'd start a new thread from new to start looking for answers. In short, van died a few weeks ago, but came back to life soon after (March 17 registered 150bhp - manual). Took it to the dealers last week to diagnose. After making several phone calls today trying to get more information on the problem after receiving the van back; I've been told there's a known issue to do with the addblue in reference to my dub. I've been told that VW are aware of the problem "at their factory" and they are working on a patch to fix the software issue. I still have no idea when this patch will be completed and rolled out.

Has anyone else had any issues with their van dying and been diagnosed with software problems in relation to the addblue system? OR has anyone heard of the problem?

Cheers.

You are not alone, this has been going on for many months with no sign yet of the elusive update

Out of interest, your MY17 Van . . . . how many miles has it done before it "died" and any idea what they done to it when they had it?

ie Adblue flush or EGR clean or other etc etc.

also did you have any dash warnings? and did you manage to grab any codes out of it before it went in?

Its all in the thread. Engine light on, 2000 miles, Code P20EE00 NOx Catalytic Conv Bank 1 Efficiency too low sporadic. Its a MY18 150
They just put the light out and cleared the code saying wait for the software update. I'm not holding my breath on that ever happening as customer service sucks.

Yep I'm one of those waiting, absolute joke. See thread 'Engine light Permanently on!'

Thanks for that thread - seems to have answered my question fully!!

The mileage on the van was 14,500 odd when it died on me temporarily.

I have no idea what they did at the dealers, been trying to get answers to this one! All I know and what I can gather, is that I had a new door seal put on the drivers side under warranty (another common problem it appears!) and the fault with my dub is being put down to a software update relating to the addblue system.

Whilst driving, the coil light (Part of the e.m.l.) came temporarily on prior to the van dying on me. When I re-started the van (luckily I was on a quiet road), the dashboard light cleared and van seemed fine again.

Sorry, didn't get any fault codes. I haven't got VCDS - due to the van still being under warranty.

Ok cool.

Re VCDS. . . . Google 》 Carista.

It's only £15 on Amazon and can read codes from the van.

Some programming and adaption too for a small fee.
