Hello All Electrics Specialists (Dellmassive)

I am fitting a solar panel / Renogy DC DC Charger under the seats with a Renogy Lithium Battery (OEM Aux Battery)

I have discovered some odd wires under the seat and would like to know whats going on. Non OEM Towbar electrics by prevoius ownership.

On the Battery post is a thick 16sqmm Black and Red wire that is bent back taped to a 2.5mm Black/Red wire that heads off into the nest of wires (is this Normal?)

And then coming out of the loom from under the floor is a large red wire wrapped in tape next to another red wire that heads into the first 15A fuse under the seat.

Any suggestions from those in the know?

Thanks all

The thick wire attached to the fuse (by the thin wire) is not the parking heater as that still works. Still investigating !

The thick red wire taped to the loom looks like a factory coupling point where a large supply cable is split - there is likely a large crimp under the fabric tape.

I have similar in my single battery 6.1 that splits to supply the 30amp feeds to the towbar module.

Possibly the vehicle had the towbar prep from factory?

The PVC tape wrapped run does look aftermarket, a factory run would more likely be in fabric tape like the others.

Looks interesting.

That fiat may be for the upper 12v death socket?

Was the van fitted with an aux battery?

. The tape doesn't look OEM, but the crimps and battery terminal do?.

What spec van?

Post a few pics of the starter battery too.

It is a LHD Multivan with Parking heater.....OEM Aux Battery under the seat.

Cigarette sockets still work with fuse removed. (one on Passenger seat) so thick red is still a mystery.
