Looking at U Shape furniture. Seems Cymru campers, Evo designs, Van Furniture and couple of others all do this layout for similar money.
Anyone got any experience of whether one is better quality than another?

I used Van Furniture and product quality was good, delivery was good, price was good...... Instructions could've been a lot better

I think that if I where to organise a camper that it would tend to be U shaped. I like the rear drop-down door tailgate that the Caravelle has so would have the most rear seat like an old fashioned flip up pub bar or something similar. I have noticed that some Caravelle owners have removed the bench seat to allow through traffic. Up until now I have removed the two captain like centre space revolving chairs and the fancy Caravelle pop up and twist table mainly to make more room and reduce weight. The seats in the Caravelle are comfortable which ever one chooses to sit in but they are excessively heavy. I quite like the Caravelle as a base vehicle.

If I ever resorted to fitting a pop top then it would be front hinged. Seems the most logical to me. Better and most logical to point the vehicle into the wind especially when it is high. The doors can be opened safely they do not get ripped out from someone’s grip with a sudden gust rear entry (please excuse) still available, as are the side sliding doors and if the pop top was hinged at the front it would be less likely damaged also and might even stay available for longer and within stronger winds. Same for a roof tent, hinge at the front. Front hinge might better suit a U shape though I have seen the side hinge lift up top which gives greater length for standing. Standing is not a problem for me.

Vanfurniture you can choose from a whole range of Gentas colours, there’s a link at the top of the page. Takes a bit longer for a bespoke colour but it’s a proper laminate rather than the cheaper options from Evomotion
