I have had to buy a new turbo because of a failure, but now I see the manifold is slightly different, do yo know if there has been a egr pipe revision?

yes apparently there are two turbos one uses one pipe the other uses the shorter pipe, the manifold is all part of the turbo

Build sticker underdash.

Ie cxeb

Or maybe via VIN number and online vin decoder or possibly @Pauly for a vin scan.

Or VCDS/obd11/carista engine scan data.
