TSI actuator weak

Hey guys is it true it is not possible to get an uprated actuator or any separate from turbo?

Had van remapped but tuner found it to be a bit weak and not holding on low down so haven’t got the full boost potential all the way though

Anyone any thoughts ? And who is best for TSI upgrade parts

Regardless of the engine output the turbocharger actuator doesn’t need any more or less force, there is no more load on the vanes.
Either the vanes are sticking, vacuum available is too low (leaks) or the diaphragm in the actuator is leaking.
Or the tuners talking out of there arse.

Hi Thanls for the reply , tuner said it’s leaking sorry wording my not be right in first post , question is can I upgrade actuator does it come separate from turbo do you know ?

Awesome GTI seem to do a fair amount of tuning parts for TSI engines. I bought upgraded coil packs for my TSI from them.

Thanks mate spoke with them they were 99% sure you can’t get it separate from turbo

I was hoping someone had found a way ha ha

You don’t need an upgrade just a replacement actuator, if you put the vehicle details into Autodoc you should find one.
Before buying try using a short length of vacuum hose and a syringe directly on the actuator and see if it holds against spring pressure. You may well have a leak elsewhere such as cracked N75 solenoid valve hose barb.
I’ve got a 24 year old Garrett actuator of an Audi and it’s still good without leaks.

Anybody working on an engine should check that all systems and components are in good condition BEFORE starting any modifications.
