Transmission Oil Changes help

Greetings T6 Owners,
We recently shipped our T6 to Brisbane a couple of months ago to do a lap of the country and I'm thinking about having the transmission fluids changed as the odo reached the 100K km mark.
We're currently in Darwin and the VW dealer is struggling to identify what the Haldex oil is and does not know how much front and rear axle/transmission oil is required.
I tried having a look through earlier posts and then downloaded the manuals from the T6 Forums site but I have not been able to find out the following info. Could any of you smart folks help please?

2016 T6 4Motion, 6 speed Manual, High roof, with CFCA Engine

- Front Axle / transmission Oil Spec: G052145S2 - Axle Oil (1 litre) - Differential & Gear Oil 75W-90
- Front Axle / transmission Oil Volume: ???
- Rear Axle Oil Spec : G052145S2 - Axle Oil (1 litre) - Differential & Gear Oil 75W-90
- Rear Axle Oil Volume : ???

- Haldex Coupling Oil Spec: ???
- Haldex Coupling Oil volume: ???

Thanks in advance
Churs
Tony

Welcome, and hope you are enjoying your circumnavigation of Australia.

Regarding the Haldex....
According to these experts IMO you have a gen 5 Haldex

They spec the correct oil, volume (looks like 850ml) required etc, as well as how to visually check for sure which generation of Haldex you have.

You will probably want the O rings as well and make sure they clean the gunk out of the filter screen (it will certainly be pretty clogged up)

I would carefully read up on haldex oil changes. There are two drain plugs close together (from what I’ve read) and mechanics get mixed up on what to drain and where to re-fill. This often leads to part of the diff / haldex unit running dry.

There have been lots of catastrophic failures about 1000 miles after a haldex oil change!

Edited to say this is across VW group vehicles not just Transporters.

I’ve just done mine, super easy job to do, just make sure you get the pump out to clean the muck off the filter / strainer

The hardest part of the job it getting the electrical connector for the pump off the back of the control unit.

See photos
This was done at 118,000mi, I don’t believe it has been done before.

Hey Thanks for the feedback,
Just about to order the oils in but need to know how much of each is needed for the front and rear diff. Can someone please help?

Specs for the 6 speed manual gearbox MQ500 which I assume is in your van. Note spec is slightly different to the spec (G 052 527 S2) you had above.

VAG manual gearboxes: MQ500.

Specifications

Production years2003 – 2022
Typemanual transmission
Number of gears6
Type of drivefront / all wheel
Engine volume, lup to 2.5
Torque output, Nmup to 500
Recommended oilG 052 527 A2
Oil capacity, liter2.3
Replacing the oilevery 80,000 km
Replacing the filterevery 80,000 km
Gearbox lifespan, km~300 000
I will see what I can find for the front and rear diffs, but probably around 1 litre in each (I haven't chenged those fluids yet)

Thanks for the heads up, I would like to read up on this topic but best I can find is good old YouTube videos
The reply below is also helpful.

I'll have a chat with the mechanic to make sure he's aware of this and order the o rings just in case.
Thanks for your response

So here's what I've found:
Front Axle: G0525 18 A2 / 1Litre
Rear Axle: G0605 17 A2 / 1 Litre
Haldex Gen 5 (checked article above)
Oil: G055 175 A2. or G060 175 A2 / 0.85 Litre

I’ve just completed my DSG oil, Haldex oil, and engine oil service, the van has done 118,000mi
The front bevel drive and the rear differential appear to be the only fluids left to replace?

I’ll be watching this, I know for sure they haven’t been changed!
