Transfer Of Ghost Immobiliser

Just found out via ttw (Autowatch immobiliser fitters) in Nottingham that the cost to transfer from your present vehicle to another is 399.00.
It was muted that a ballpark of £180 would be payable but this figure is way off the mark.
I find it strange that they do not mention this in ANY of their literature.

I think mine was £400 to have one fitted from new.

What are you going to spend you £1 on? ;)

Not unsurprising, cartel pricing means that they will close ranks and force a new sale..

From the fitters point of view.

If you think about it... it's twice the work!!!

You have to strip down and rebuild 2x motors..... plus de-solder all the connections.... plus reprogrammed the unit.

I'm not surprised TBH.

Double labour time Etc Etc. Just goes to show you that the ghost hardware is a small % of the £399 original cost VS the install labour.

On that note.. can anyone recommend an installer in't North or North West.
Looked online but trust you good folks to help if you can.

It seems approved dealers have to abide by the locked in fitted price.... fair enough i suppose. It stops undercutting.

But as you say a vehicle swap should be down to the installers discretion regarding the Labour charge.
