Tpms Tyre Pressure Monitor Sensors?

Hi all,

Having been an avid T5er for many years I enjoyed modding it with a facelift, 20" wheels and coilies and all the day van goodies I could throw at it when funds allow. It has now been sold and I've got a T6 Highline on order from VW North Wales, which I'm pretty excited about. I've ordered a set of Calibre CC-U 20" wheels to replace the Devonports that the van will be wearing when I collect it . I was browsing this month's VW Bus magazine and on page 11 there is a section about aftermarket bits that's available. One of the accessories was an aftermarket TPMS that fits inside the wheel, I'm guessing its Tyre Pressure Monitor Sensor? Will I need a set of these for my new bus to maintain the tyre pressure reading? Or will the existing witchcraft of the van be able to monitor the tyre pressures on the aftermarket wheels?

Any advice and comments welcome

Thanks, Ian

No sensors needed, loss of pressure monitored by the ABS sensors.

Yep. What he said.....

Though it won't show you the actual PSI reading like in tyre TPMS Systems. It will warn you of pressure loss using the ABS rotational wheel speed sensor.

I must admit the OEM Set up is not the best in the world....but it works.

Some people prefer the separate 3td party TPMS kit.

I think it just another gadget on the dash board. There are loads of other things for the van you can spend your cash on.
