Towing a boat with a T6

Hi, I've ended up here because I'm looking for an 8 seater that can tow a 2000kg boat. Unlike caravans the boat needs to be launched and recovered up and down potentially fairly steep slipways. Can a t6 do it? Any info much appreciated.

No experience of launching a heavy 2000kg boat, but I’d imagine it would be down to how slimy the slipway is, a 4 motion DSG would be the best option, there are definitely members on here that use and tow boats

I've towed a J80 many miles with T6.1 (204 2nd) and it tows brilliantly on the road. It pulls away well and is pretty good on hills and stopping power is good.
I've also towed 1000's of miles with a disco 4 and I had consequently decided that the T6 was going to be hopeless in comparison but what it lacks in proper grunt and grip, it gains in storage for crew and sails.
Having said that, the J80 is launched with hoist or single point lift and no slipway work has been required.
Grip on a slipway would be my concern as I do find traction a bit ropey on soft ground when towing my caravan, despite the caravan being 1/2 ton lighter than the J80 and trailer.
I would change to a 4Mo if I needed to use for slipway work.

@BaronVan hi, I have the T6.1 4MO and tow my ski boat with it. I previously had an Amarok and was very nervous that the T6 wouldn't cope on the slipways, it has been fine. Although I caveat that with the fact I have fitted the K02 tires for extra grip (my van is setup more for expedition as I now live in South Africa). The van has the power, it will come down to traction.
