I've done 102,000 miles on my CEXB engine. Had the oil level light come on yesterday , must admit I've been waiting for it.

Just had to put a litre in it

I brought 4 litres of oil in June 2024 according to a dealer invoice i've found in May 2024 I'd done 84,200 miles so in the last year I've used around 3l of oil in 18,000 miles.

Am I skating on thin ice 🤷‍♂️🤞🤞🤞

Millers oil analysis will reveal all but add a comment regarding the amount of oil consumed / added to avoid a false report.
Opie oils are a good supplier of the kit.
You’ll also need a syringe and a meter of hose to fit down the dipstick.

It's either Block or Turbo id assume.

But best get it looked at, all that oil is going into your DPF and will kill it....

Your in dates range? 2016-2019 MY?

If it turns out to be block - low compression test. Then your have done well to get over 100k as most go around 80k.

If it's turbo, - small bearing weeping oil....that's a shame as is they normally go 125k+

Luckily we have a great resource for the CXEB engines......

update. . . 4months later. - on my 6year old 2018 CXEB 80k miles van.

oil usage test under the TPI below failed. (used for than 0.5L per 1000km)

compression test across all cylinders failed. (tested at 15bar - fail point is 19bar)

"new long-block engine + cat + dpf + lambda sensor" all fitted by VW under the ALL-IN extended warranty (around £20k worth of work)

thank god for the extended warranty and me catching the symptoms early.
it took 4 months for the whole process, but VW garage gave us a loan van for the duration and VW ALL-IN picked up the whole bill.
