Morning,

I’ve recently upgraded all the suspension on the van, h and r coilovers, h and r ARB, bigger brakes, good tyres, adjustable poly bushes etc and the van really really handles!

But it’s just missing that extra oomph, it’s mapped to 200 hp and 400+ nm

I want more! Thought about dropping a tsi engine in as they are tuneable, but I figured that an engine swap might just be a real headache after reading posts regarding a rs3 conversion.

So, how can I achieve 300 ish (or more) Bhp from the 150 TDI?

What would be needed?
Obv new clutch, turbo, charge cooler, map, exhaust. Does anyone have any suggestions or links please. I’ll do the work myself bar a map,

Just trying to get opinions from those that have done it, or know of anything reliable that works please. Inc approximate costs?

How about dark side developments?

Thanks

Speak to dark side developments I’m sure they will be able to answer your questions .

@Voodoo Developments. How you getting on with the upgrade? I got a CXFA engine and I really keen to reach 350+bhp.
As far as i Know muntiul a solution comes up for a delphi HPFP not much we can doo.
It would be interested to know the Delpnhi HPFP capabilities. I planning a new turbo before the summer it is a direct fit and capable of 260bhp I gues that is what the HPFP can cope with. Will update you on the progress if you interested

RS3 conversionn is completely different than a tsi or one of the VR6 engines. Lots of custum work and difficulity with wiring. It was my idea too to do it, but finaly decided to put the Passat CC 3.6 fsi in. That is I am currenly planning.

Think about the cost of that extra 40BHP you can achive with that turbo with DarkSide. It is something like over 100£/BHP there are other turbos awailable but stll extra 40 bhp only, with new injectors extra 60bhp and you still have a diesel.

I thought I need to spend nearly the same money and I could have a 300bhp out of the box with a 3.6 fsi and I can go crazy if I want to. ( even over 1000bhp) that was a no brainer. Not mentioning that sexy rumbling VR6 sound

DarkSide's package includes that cone airfilter what is not really safe to the engine in my oppinion. Not even the K&N air filters. The T6 's air intake designed very well it is not like the T5.1 that taking air near the wheel arches. So you get perfect cold air straight a way. They also charge a very heavy price for the turbo and the mapping. As far as I know they do not put on new charge cooler. The factory one ok for that power. You can make custum hybrid turbo what is direct fit. Talk to TDI turbos or Pioneering Performance. than a custom exhaust PP tunning makes nice costom mandrell bent exhausts. When it comes to mapping Bobby Singh in Windsor is your guy. If you use those Guys and do some work for yourself you will end up probably 60-80£/bhp
