T6 wiring down C pillar

Hello,

I'm trying to run some 12v wires down the C pillar (cargo area, next to sliding door, drivers side).

The larger round hole at the T junction does not seem to have an opening into the C pillar.

Any ideas on how to run a cable through the C pillar?

I have searched but not found any posts that describe how to do it

Yep. That’s another recommendation from me for the cable rods. Or use a ‘nylon cable fishing wire’ used to pull cables through conduit.
Now I’m damn sure I fished cables down the C pillar as a spare for a usb socket or such like when I did my van wiring two years ago. I’ll have a look at some photos tomorrow and post if I find a good one. But…. I’m certain you will find a route. 👍

You can also use a net curtain wire as there very flexible but coil to badly when pushing along

Ok, apologies for delay. been on the computer today and trawled through my historical 'install & conversion' photos, but cannot find a specific one of the C Pillar showing wiring coming down from the roof. So......it may well be there is not a route that way or it's pig to find?? (sorry if I perhaps misled but the mists of time and all that). However I found these photos which show the wiring in situ behind the small the kidney patch by the sliding door. (I left mine there in preparation for a future USB charge or some such if I needed it. ) But, what I can be 100% certain of (from the photos) is that I ran some wiring down the 'D' Pillar by the tail gate from top to bottom to exit by the rear wheel arch, then took it out along the rib in the rear load bay panel and poked it into the void in the 'C' pillar. You can see I also used some flexi-conduit to protect it where it went through the D and C Pillars. Hopes this all helps.?259963D1-5244-40E0-B9DE-52C2A7C5BAA2_1_105_c.jpeg1610FA6F-B18E-44E4-8C97-CB8777056A5B_1_105_c.jpeg

Thanks for the tip everyone!

I went to the hardware shop and bought some curtain wire (spiral spring encased in a vinyl outer) but it was too flexible for the long run up the C pillar and it bent before it could get around the corner. I also bought some 3mm braided wire (for sun shades etc) but it was also too thin and bent too.

What did work for me was going to a bike shop and buying 1.5m of Gear Cable Outer which is flexible but does not bend as easily, that worked a treat. I'd recommend buying 2m if you can as 1.5m was a little short for that run up the C pillar and only just made it.

I did find a route - further back towards the rear door is a large oval shaped opening which connects to the C pillar. And on the opposite side of the van, there is another oval shaped opening. These are pretty sharp so it's best to cover them with some U shaped channel edge protector. I found some in my local hardware shop.

I tried both ends - from the top down did not work as I couldn't guide the cable could in to the C pillar cavity, i tried many times and it did not work. Working from the bottom and pushing upwards did work - i could add a little rotation on the wire to guide it in to the right direction on the T junction in the C pillar.

The next issue was the cables got snagged on one of the corners and I needed to somehow dislodge them. I created a tool out of some 3mm solid wire, similar to a coathanger but all straight, and made a U shaped hook on the front which would follow the stuck cable up and I could apply some pressure to push it upwards and dislodge it. It took a few tries, but it worked well.
