T6 Story

Hello All!
I ordered a swb kombi 4m dsg end of March and it was delivered Friday 8th June.
When I started the process, I wanted Pure Grey but VW don't offer this colour in the Highline specification, so opted for Indium Grey. Also quite fancied a petrol engine but also wanted the 4motion. Can't get petrol & 4m in the UK, so diesel it is. On the options front, started off with about £8,000 worth, so obviously had to whittle that down. In the end, opted for Discover media, LED head/tail lights, detachable towbar, double front passenger seat, double & single rear seat, heated front seats, power latching side & tailgate, folding mirrors, headlamp washer system, F&F parking sensors with camera, high beam assist and a couple of extra years on the warranty.
It came with the Transporter badge on the tailgate (not level:( ) 4motion badges front and rear. The T32 204 badge is in a bag waiting to be stuck on but I think I won't bother. I will probably get the height dropped by 30mm using VW springs at some point, as it does sit a little high and the ride is a bit "wallowy" (it will never be loaded with much weight). I have some 18" wheels that I might put on and fit with Michelin Latitude Cross 225/65/R18 . I'm not after the "low look" or "big wheels" look particularly as I need the ground clearance and I don't want any potential issues with the Warranty. I still have my Audi S3 which is plenty low enough for me :).
I am enjoying this Forum and picking-up tips, do's & don't's etc and would like to thank everyone who has and does contribute to it. I have already fitted the extra dust door seals, as when I ordered the van, they had been dropped as a factory option for some reason.
I am financially drained at the moment but obviously going forward, I will be carpet lining / sound deadening etc. Oh and maybe an audio upgrade wouldn't go amiss .
If anyone in Dorset has Carista or VCDS it might be nice to change a couple of things maybe................for an exchange of £;)
Thanks again for a great informative forum!

Thank you for the positive comments:) and maybe BiTurbo, we might meet later in the year
Bit fed-up today, as van is only four days old and already some p**** smashed the door mirror casings off today............................gutted tbh :(DSC_0096.JPG

Wow, remarkable similarities in my purchase too. I got mine March ‘17, Indium 204 DSG 4mot LWB Kombi. Very similar list of extras too. A special kind of @sshole hit mine on day 5 of ownership. Not impressed.
Anyhoo, mine is used as a family lugger and work vehicle. It is my first Transporter and I was hugely disappointed with it to start with, I didn’t like the way it put power down, crap fuel consumption and downright noisy. Like a good album, I’ve grown to love it. I had the sound deadening and carpet lining done, loose fitted a Motexion bulkhead, speaker/amp upgrade and put some Sportline wheels on. I fitted the extra door dust seals as they were missed off my order as well. A few other bits and bobs and now I’m head over heels. I get in the van before I get in the car (‘64 Disco) now.
Enjoy.

Bedtime, I'm glad that you came to love your T6. Mine's going in for a set of 30mm lower springs next week . Have to admit that the slightly lower & bigger wheel look is growing on me now though but still need / want to keep some height off the ground.
Still undecided if I should sound deaden, insulate and carpet line it myself or have it done for me!
I fixed the mirror casing with a new bottom section from VW which was a reasonable £5 :)
