T6 My19

Hi peeps,

Due to have a poke around my new T6 on Thursday before it goes into the WAV converter - will post pics when I get home.

Just thought I'd start a thread off though to query what the changes are as part of the MY19 package? If anyone has taken delivery at all of a new vehicle in the last month or so I'd be intrigued to know what the changes are?

Thanks
Alex

The changes that I’ve seen on mine are
No sunglasses holder
No engine and model badge on the tailgate just transporter on the left hand side.

And The overhead storage compartment is now even smaller, not a clue what I can get in there now.

Would you be able to get a picture of the overhead storage compartment please? Stupidly I didn't even think about looking at that when they brought the demo vehicle around :(

That saves you a job de-badging the rear, but more likely the dealer forgot to add the badges because they normally come in the globe box, and it's down to who ever preps the vehicle, to fit them, hence why we often see them wonky or in the wrong place.
As for the sunglasses holder, that's just mean removing that, if VW did. At the least they could of fitted a grab handle.
If it's any consolation, not many decent sunglasses (Oakley) fit in there anyway, and mine is the cubby hole for my garage remote.

That is ridiculous, they’ve even left the gap in the moulding for it. You can get one off eBay if you want one though. My Oakleys fit in fine so it depends on the shape of the sunspecs. As mentioned, plenty of pre my19 vans came without the badges as the dealers don’t always fit them, I can see them ditching the TDI badge though, it’s become a dirty word at VW.

I’m not sure if it is the actual VW production plant to blame. Out of curiosity just compared price/option list in the UK and up here. We are in “unfortunate” position to tick quite a few options more than are shown in the UK list.

One of the interesting missing ones on your list is the MFSW with DSG paddles…

And actually I have seen that a knowledgeable dealer can tick/untick even more at his access point to factory system. E.g. without head unit (radio), without A/C, with Traction control switch for FWD vans, with tailgate release switch for panel vans, etc.

Of course to help our customers our local HQ has preselected several options as packages which include several of these kind of tiny/unexpensive options like sun glass holder, spare wheel, jack, cigarette lighter, badges, etc. so that all buyers don’t really need to consider all the details.

I’d like to think that in this case of missing sunglass holder the actual tick boxes for that exact location were a) sunglass holder b) grab handle. So leaving wrong boxes unticked would result obviously…

The picture @JonB posted –are the mug holders on the dash missing, or is it just the angle?

I didn't even know you could get DSG Paddles as an option for a Transporter. Yes, I have paddles, but I had to fit a different steering wheel from a MK7 Golf to get these. I wonder if it is an option, what wheel they use, because my flappy wheel is smaller than the Highline one, and has a flat bottom.

This is what I was told. Doesn’t bother me as I would have taken it off anyway

The wheel is the same one as without paddles, nothing fancy. All buttons have red illumination. The option code is "ZEA".
EDIT: +110€ (on top of MFSW).

I wonder if it's just not an option in the UK, because I've never heard of anyone having it from the factory. Does it say the extra cost?
