Help needed on autolocking and unlocking

Hi All, well after lots of research and help on here i invested in a VNCI tool and have been using VCTool to make some changes to my MY19 Caravelle. I went for VCTool primarily because its a cost effective solution that allows a month by month which is hopefully all i will need for now and allows within that month for me to flash modules. I've been having a good play and it seems a really good tool and works from what i could see in a similar fashion to VCDS(although i have never owned or used VCDS).

Sadly there are no oneclick solutions available on it for T6 so i have been making changes in either coding or adaptions. So far i have managed to set the instruments to celebration so they do the sweep, set the big mph speedo, deactivate drl's when the handbrake is on, set up the extra wipe from the wipers after a few seconds and also add a couple of bits to the MFD like the amount of fuel until refill etc. I even managed to flash the ECU with the park heater firmware files and then put it back to standard so i didnt get faults as i have not yet installed the telestart...That will be this weekends playing

But the one i cant get to work is the auto locking when above 10mph and unlock on key removal. I can select both these in adaptions but it just fails to lock when driving away or unlock when the key is removed if i have locked it. Are there any other adaptions i need to make or coding to change?

The only other issue i have is that i have 'return message from left (and right) rear door closing position is implausible' as per picture. Would this prevent the auto locking from working? Any idea what causes this fault and how to correct, both electric side doors open close and lock on the key remote as expected.

Thanks for any help
Andy

You could try clearing the fault codes, and see if the autolock works, and also if the fault codes come back.

I suspect they are not related, but worth a try.

Do you also have the autolock option on the MFD ?

Hi manfrotto thanks for replying. Yes I tried clearing the faults and driving but still the same and the faults just come straight back. I can’t find anything on the MFD that would allow me to turn it off or on either. I turned both the auto locking and unlocking on in adaptions but I’m not sure if there is another adaption of coding needed as well? Cheers

Did you have the bonnet open when you did the adaptions? I read soemwhere that it is required when you make the adaptions.

This is the Menu in my T6.1 with the autolock setting on the dashboard.....

It is under "vehicle" settings

thanks for the help chaps. I’m sat in it now and I have been through every menu in the MFD and there is no car set up one.. am I missing something simple? In settings I get;
Assist settings,
Language,
MFD Data,
Coasting,
Time
Winter tyres
Units
Tyre Pressure
Alt Speed dis
Service
Factory Setting

Thanks again for the help

Assuming that yours is a T6, within 'Settings' you should have 'Convenience'. In there is 'Central Locking'.

So chaps I think I have found the reason. I have a supplement with my handbook as per the picture below and it shows that the Auto lock function has been removed for the late 2019 T6 cars!!

Yep I don’t have that ‘convenience’ option on the display😢. I will se if I can find a way to add it though on VC Tool as I can’t see it being a physical change🤷‍♂️

Thanks for this. So I played with it again tonight a tried activating and un activating in both coding and adaptions bonnet up and down etc, any how I managed get it to work! . I’m not sure what it was or whether there’s just a glitch but it worked!

Sometimes disconnecting/reconnecting starter battery is needed to do the trick on these BCMs banghead.gif
