T6 key

I've just bought a t6 and lost my key.
I've tried using the spare and it unlocks and turns ignition on but the van doesn't start..
It saying key not recognised.
Anyone any ideas. Thanks

Key isn't coded to the imobilizer I'd imagine.

Or it's not a smart key? (Surf key)

It's the normal key. Same as the other one I have

Battery ok in the fob?

Unlocks all the doors with the button press?

When was the last time that key was used?

Does everything apart from start the car. I've only had it a few weeks so I'm not sure when it was last used

At work at moment but said something like key not recognised.
And something about hold close to something

Sounds like key not programmed to immobiliser.

Buy new replacement key and get both keys programmed in.


Prob about £250 - £350 at dealers.

Had some luck. I found my key in the rd outside a house I'm working in .it's been there all night.
Tried the spare and this is what comes up

Not Coded to imobilizer . I think.

If you buy a new key, or recode the spare,
I’d ask them to reprogram both keys to new code,
peace of mind if you don’t have all the original keys.
