At 20% of the VW price what’s not to like, it if doesn’t fit / function you get your money back.

I went for the cheap ones. You can see they are pretty much spot on from the front

front mirror compare

The rear is a little different with the wiring connection.

And here it is fitted.

Overall it works and fits but...
1. The metal things sticking out the back (clips/arms/strips or whatever they are called) are slightly too long and straight. I had to work them a little to bend them inwards as it literly wouldn't fit back in.
2. The push fit center bit would not go in as easy as the original that I took off. I was pushing really hard to try and get it to pop back into the center holder.
3. The electric motor and heater work but as it is all slightly stiff with those metal arms I'm wondering if it'll put strain on the motor.

Time will tell but it's a job done for now. If these break I'll get the £99 one to see how different they are and report back.

Morning all. How easy or not is it, to remove and refit the glass?
Quite easy. Push the top of the mirror back towards the front casing.
This will great a nice gap at the bottom for you to either get a trim tool or your fingers behind the bottom of the mirror and pull it towards you.
Should pop out if the motor bracket.
Then a small screwdriver to gently lever the electrical wires from the contacts if heated.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the aftermarket ones demist far quicker. My OE ones take ages
Interesting. My OE ones take ages. I recently drove my brothers 14 plate A1 and they are much much faster. Wonder why the OEM are so crap slow.
