T6.1 spec changes (split out from BVMS thread)

I can’t believe you’re not in a 6.1 yet? What’s the delay?? ;)

Lots of things I don't like, or aren't available yet on it. I'm sure you've seen the list. As you know, as a model goes through a couple of model year iterations, VW have tended to add to the list of available factory options. Well, they have done historically and I was waiting for that. At the moment though, stuff (apart from the 6.1 excess plastic) is actually disappearing  .... DSG sport mode gone, Shifter leather gone, internal alarm deactivation button gone, sunroof not appeared, Comfort Dash not appeared, footrest not appeared, etc etc ... basically, when it's possible to have a 6.1 spec'd like mine (with both factory and after market options), I'll switch.

The biggest killer for me is the foot rest, there’s nowhere to put your left foot and I’ve got really long legs and clown feet.

I might give my bus a mid life spruce up, get it soundproofed properly, suspension refresh, get the paint detailed, get a rib bed in the back, big brakes etc.

I think the T6 values will hold firm if you have the right spec, especially one like mine where every penny is documented, 5k mile oil/filter changes, haldex service and dsg service all done early etc.

Unfortunately I don’t see them re-adding options, over the years they have just been removing! The sunroof is what I miss - All my vehicles have sunroofs.

I’ve got used to not having a footrest, but if I think about it I suppose I miss it.
Because of the ever increasing price on the Transporter (like for like over the last 3.5 years for a top spec 4Motion kombi, the price has gone up by over £6k+vat) and the popularity of the vans, will hold the prices nicely. Whereas you could buy an absolute nail for £500-£1000 now the bottom end seems to be £3000. History, spec and condition put these vans in a pricing of their own.

Big brakes you say - now is the time with our deal running out shortly

Regarding the deletion of the alarm sensor switch on the B pillar, I'm sure that I read on the Golf Forum that two presses of the lock button on the remote does that job now.

Agreed, works on my Q5.

I thought that stopped the deadlocks?

No it turns off the internal sensors. I had to do it when the dog was in the Q5. You press the remote button after you have locked the car and the lights blip again.

I am talking about T6s that have the button the the B pillar.

Yeah I believe the T6.1 use the key double press to turn off the internal sensors. Hence the removal of the B pillar sensor button.
