For sale is our 2018 68’Plate VW Transporter T6 T32 Kombi 150bhp DSG Highline. We have owned this for 6 years and it has been like one of the family. During that time, my wife has used it as her daily driver and we have used it for our family of four for days out, camping trips, festivals and European travelling.

We’ll be really sorry to see it go as we have made some amazing family memories in this van but it's now time for another family to enjoy it. We have recently purchased a Narrowboat and plan to use that for our holidays for a few years.

I’ve gone into detail below for prospective buyers but to summarise, this has been our pride and joy and has wanted for nothing. It’s a high-spec van with top-quality accessories that has full VW service history.

Factory Specification

This T6 is a genuine factory Kombi Highline model and is the highest load rating T32 model. This means it can carry a total kerb weight of 3200kg and has the larger brakes and uprated suspension as standard from the factory.

The engine is the 2.0 TDI 150bhp which is mated to the fabulous 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The van drives beautifully and has never let us down. The 150bhp model has plenty of power and is a huge upgrade from the lower spec 102 vans. The engine has never been mapped or messed with.

We purchased the van from Lookers VW in Newcastle in 2019. It had been their dealer demonstrator so came with a high spec from the factory. It has the LED Matrix headlights, Twin Electric Sliding Doors, Parking Sensors, Discover Media System with Sat Nav and Apple/Android Carplay, Electric Folding Mirrors, Multifunction Steering Wheel, Heated Windscreen, Air-conditioning, Factory Seat Covers, Bumper Protector, the list goes on…

Additional Specification and Accessories

For the first few years of ownership we had one of those bed setups that went over the rear kombi seats after folding them flat. We didn’t find this particularly comfortable so 2 years ago we fitted a full-width 150cm RIB Altair seat/bed in matching fabric in the rear of the van. At the same time the van was professionally sound-deadened, insulated and carpet-lined.

RIB Altair beds are the best on the market and are fully TUV approved and crash tested. The RIB seats 2 people, all with 3-point belts, comes with Isofix positions for two child seats and was fitted with the Kiravans Certified fitting kit. The RIB bed with fitting came in at over £3K but is 100% worth it for comfort and safety. I wouldn’t put my kids in anything else.

Kickboards with under-bed storage as well as an overhead storage locker were also fitted at this time. Other things fitted were Focal 6” rear speakers and interior curtains to the side and rear windows. The van was also uprated with RIB swivel bases for the front seats to allow them to face the rear as well as a Loc8 Sliding door demountable table and demountable tables for the rear seat passengers (the kids in our case). The above interior mods cost us in excess of £5,000 but transformed the van into a fantastic day-van; perfect for fish and chips at the beach as well as longer campervan holidays.

Other additional accessories that are included in the sale are the Fiamma Rear Bike Rack (holds 2 bikes), the Fiamma F45s wind-out awning and front window covers. These would be well over £1k to buy new. Please note that the roof box and roof bars are not included in the sale. Also, I have included a picture of our camping setup that shows our Vango driveaway awning to give you an idea of what you can do with this vehicle. The drive-away awning is not included in the sale.

Condition

The van is in great condition for the year and mileage. The Cherry Red bodywork still looks great and polishes up lovely every time I clean it. There are really only a couple of marks on the van. There is a dent about the size of a 5p piece on the fuel flap and a small dent in the bike rack that doesn’t affect its use. There are also various stone chips scattered about consistent with the mileage but they're nothing really. I recently bought a stone chip repair kit from the dealer but haven’t used it yet. I’ll include it with the van.

The interior is again in superb condition. Everything rear of the two front seats was brand new less than 2 years ago as described above. The front seats have had genuine VW covers fitted from new and the seats themselves underneath are therefore in excellent condition. The dash, steering wheel and plastics are again all in very good condition.

The alloy wheels were replaced like for like for brand new alloys last year so these are in excellent condition. We have only ever fitted Continental VanContact tyres as this is what the van came with as standard from the factory. At the moment, the rears have plenty of life with around 7mm of tread. The front tyres are getting low; the main dealer said 3.5mm on the healthcheck report in June this year but I’d be looking to get them changed if we were keeping the van.

The Van has covered 103,000 miles but it is in daily use so will rise slightly. The majority of this mileage has been done by my wife on her 80-mile round trip to work down the motorway every day. We have also used this van for our summer holidays every year in our ownership and have travelled to France, Holland, Germany and also drove down to the Costa Brava in Spain last year for 2 weeks. In all that time it has never missed a beat. The engine runs smoothly with no scary noises or rattles and the DSG Gearbox has been superb. I couldn’t go back to having a manual after having this.

Maintenance

As previously mentioned, this van has wanted for nothing and comes with full VW Main Dealer Service History from new. The most recent service was done in June 2025 at 102,000 miles ( I have the dealer health-check walkaround video should you wish to see it). The timing belt was done at 4 years old in line with the dealer recommendation at the time, but VW have since changed the belt schedule to every 12 years I believe.

We have also paid each year to have the proper VW Extended warranty. That means whatever the van has needed, it has got. The warranty has been great as we have paid monthly for it since the van was 3 years old and the payment also included the yearly service and MOT. The warranty was really comprehensive and even covered things like snapped springs and droplinks so anything like that has been done at the dealer with genuine parts. Things of note that have been done under the warranty are the EGR was replaced a couple of years ago and the van got a full replacement head unit last year after the touchscreen stopped working.

The MOT expires in September but we still have one MOT left to use as part of our warranty package. We are happy to put the van into the dealer and have it MOT’d for the new owner before it goes. As the warranty doesn’t expire until September too, this would be a good opportunity to get any warranty jobs done before it expires. The van did get a clean bill of health at the dealer 1000 miles ago so I doubt it’ll need anything, but we might as well take advantage of it while it's there.

The private number plate is not included in the sale and the van will be returned onto its 68’ plate before it goes. The van is fully HPI clear and any inspection is welcome.

Hopefully that covers everything. Like I said we’ve really enjoyed owning this T6. They are a fantastic family vehicle and the kids are going to be gutted when it goes but it’s time for us to move on to something new. I’m confident that this T6 will continue to be a great vehicle for its new owner.

Price is £29,950 or nearest offer.

We are located in Durham. If interested, please message me for my phone number.

Thanks,

Craig
