Hi Guys!

Just proudly installed my backup camera, not the nicest thing to drill and saw in the tailgate, but it worked out great.

In my 2020 T6.1 caravellle i installed the OEM Highline backup camera, but after coding, everything seems to be fine, but no image, and no guidelines:
MIB3 unit

Camera has 12v on the connector in the tailgate
Camera is recognized in gateway, and coded
Video signal pins ( 6 and 12 on the blue connector ) are measured correctly to pins in the tailgate

Coding:
Gateway adapted
5F VPS activated, comfort bus
input to ethernet
PDC activated

After coding, in reverse, navi goes to the screen where you can choose all the camera options, but no image, no guidelines.
Did i miss something? or is this camera just broken.

Thanks for your help!

Julian

Where is this voltage coming from?
Can you list part numbers you have used for this upgrade? New or second hand?
New parts from Carsystems.eu
Voltage coming from quadlock connector of the MIB3 main unit.
After checking, rechecking measuring everything for hours and hours, i just put up this ( first ) post, and kept looking if i missed something in coding.
I use OBDeleven for coding, and took the settings from here/obdeleven forum.

What i have just changed:
5F / adaptation / function-configuration_unit / RVC_video_input

was set to ethernet, Now FBAS, everything works great.

I hope this may help someone!
If anybody needs all the coding steps, i'll add to this thread later on.

Thanks!

Hi, does anyone have the installation instructions for the OEM camera install they can share? I plan to purchase the camera system from carsystems.eu but want to see how difficult the install is before committing.

Hi,

I've just purchased the Highline kit from car systems.eu anyone able to help on connections for it. i've found a diagram of a quadlock on california owners t6 but just want to confirm this is the same. Ideally i want the neatest simplest way of connecting each cable. i assume the way the loom is taped it all comes from the quadlock. Any help appreciated.

Where's best to take the +12V feed from?
What's the best way to connect to the CAN High and CAN low cables?

Just fitted this kit to my t6.1. The wiring harness needs to be spliced into the quadlock associated wires.
12v is from the main 12v feed to headunit, ground is again spliced to the main brown ground wire, can H can L goes to the associated wires and pin the video 2 core cable Into the blue plug. Pins 6 and 12. It's on car systems instructions on how to do.

12v is from the main 12v feed to headunit,
This sounds like the same camera kit I fitted, and the instructions with the kit did suggest picking 12V from the HU main supply.

A warning though; this 12V supply is fused at 20A, and the camera supply cable is at best rated for 10A. It’s better to pick up a new supply at the fusebox, or at least to fit an inline fuse behind the head unit. A 2A fuse is enough

does anyone have the part numbers for this so we can try to source the kit on aliexpress

is this kit for the t6.1

or just for the t6/t5

Hi, the kit I bought does not need a feed from the reverse light trigger wire on the t6.1.
The camera works via a 12v feed from the headunit, and has a separate canbus signal to activate it after coding. I did not need to splice into my vans reverse wire to activate it.
I am not sure if this is the same though on the t5, t6 platform vans though.

The kit I bought, however I was hit with import tax though once it arrived in the UK.
