T6.1 LWB U shape Electrics location

Hi,

Just looking for some ideas on where you have your invertors in a u shaped furniture layout (Useat multi)
I have a fogstar 230ah under seat battery I want under the drivers seat.
Passenger seat is double swivel and I'd like to keep it like that.

I spoke to Rayne Automotive and they said a 1m run of cable is probably the max I should get (2500w invertor)

Picture below of the furniture and 3 places I initially thought I might put the invertor.

@dave033 I have the same headache (my van is also 6.1 LWB). Keen to know how you got on....?

My battery is too big to place under the driver's seat, so I plan to collate the key electrical components around the mid point of the van. The latest thinking is to put the battery under the rear seat/bed adjacent to the end of the kitchen unit. As the inverter requires 10cm clear all round for ventilation, I'm probably going to position it vertically at the back of the kitchen cupboard, which means I'll need to trim the inside cupboard shelf to fit.

I can't show any pics at the mo as I haven't put the furniture kit together yet!

I've not finished yet but once I did i made a collection of cardboard boxes the same size as the components and the mocked up some layouts.

I'll be putting my inverter behind the seat it fits, it is tight but I can pull the seat forward when I want to use it. I opted for the 2000w victron. I did want the 3000w but I was persuaded to lower it.

Pic below of what I have so far. Inverter and mppt will go on my board in the empty space.
Fuse boxes and breaker/rcds going in my double kitchen cupboard

Top tip dont forget how big some of the smaller items are, 2 bus bars take up quite some room.

Wire flexibility is also a concern if you dont give them enough room.

You could fit quite a lot under the seat, especially your dc>dc, mppt

Looks like a sensible approach. I completely agree that making a mock up of the electrics using cardboard boxes and surplus ply as a test run is essential - apart from anything else, the battery and inverter are very weighty items!

I also have a 2k Victron inverter but haven’t considered the area behind the driver’s seat for this, or any of the other components for that matter. This is because they would be at least 2m from my LB (I have a fogstar drift 460ah). Having said that, I’d very much like to make some use of the void space under the driver’s seat if possible - just need to establish which components could be positioned this far from the LB?
