T6.1 LED headlights

Only owning a poverty model startline 6.1 I wouldn't know about factory LED's.
The candles my stock 6.1 was given were naturally dreadful so I had a THQ upgrade performed by Mr Davtec.
Nearly 2 years they have been installed and they are perfect at night, and adjustable using the little wheel to the left of the rotary light switch.
Do the 'real LED' vans not have that adjustment wheel?

No little wheel on mine, 24 plate Highline, they self level.

The led lights self adjust on start up the same as oem xenon lights have done for years, i find them to be superb lights, i can measure mine at a set distance but it will vary by wheel size and suspension etc

Yeah I appreciate they self adjust according to suspension load but they're also adjustable on the lights themselves so there must be a baseline setting for the cutoff. Not sure where to find that information but mine seems a bit low.

Sorry just noticed your tag. Headlights were checked and all correct, so I just need to adjust my driving expectations from being sat in a sun rav4 to higher up driving position in a van
Also had mine checked, they were slightly low so we've tweaked 'em up a little. Haven't driven in the dark with the new adjustment yet.

Would be interested in how you fingers the beam at night. Im wondering if there dealer checked them at all....🤔

Im going to be calling the dealer as the side window is leaking again, plus I'll get the service done and ask them to check the beam alignment once in the workshop and will report back prob (in March) 👍

Right I've driven it in proper dark and my beam (factory LED) is now significantly further out, much better, the sudden sharp cutoff is gone, might actually bring 'em down a touch.

No-one flashed me, beam is lighting car in front's bumper at 50mph with a 2 second gap.

Beams were adjusted on a proper MOT setup, they were "slightly low" on the tester, now they're slightly high on the tester machine.

I'll get mine checked again when it's in for a service, cheers buddy 👍

In my experience, the T6 factory LED headlights were far superior to the T6.1s. The T6 had a travel mode which adjusted them for European travel however the T6.1 doesn't have this option. I think what VW have engineered is for the T6.1 LEDs to be suitable for both left/right hand driving and this is why the output is not so good on the later version.

The T6.1 auto detects where you are and adjusts the headlights to suit.
