THQ Headlight V1 Not Very Good!

I have the THQ V1 LED lights on my T6.1 that everyone seems to rave about, but I think they are terrible. When dipped they only light up the road about 10-15m ahead, then there is a sharp line at which the light stops and the road is pitch black after that. It is horrendous driving at night, especially in the rain. I've returned to where they were fitted to see if it is an adjustment problem, and they were apparently 'tweaked', but the problem is still there. I'm wondering if this is just a me/installation issue, or does anyone else think there's a problem? To note I also have a heated windscreen which amplifies the poor visibility issue at night - guess VW didn't plan on these vans being used after dark!🤦🏽‍♂️

Is it just a problem with LEDs?

I've never had them, have you used them in other vehicles?

This sharp cut-off would seem to mean super-bright illumination in front but no leakage means no indication of what is further on.

You have the ones that they fit LED bulbs in as opposed to being proper LED optics. It's the proper LED headlights that everyone is raving about.

The T6 versions were nothing special either, but could be improved but installing HIDs or better LED bulbs. these for example. They may need as well adjusting tho'. You ought to be able to do that yourself shining the lights onto a wall. There are up and down adjustment screws just like on any other headlight.

I have the V1's in my 6.1 fitted by @Dav-Tec .
Do you not have the adjustment wheel to the left of the lighting controls?
I really rate the lights! Is that just a Chris@davtec pucker set up though?!

You have LED bulbs in yours? I have Halogens (OSRAM Nightbreaker) and they are awful
Yes, got the HQ LED H7 bulbs. Contacted THQ who have said to make sure the bulbs are seated correctly. Can't even imagine how bad halogen would be!

Yeah i think my halogens need adjusting - but they were seated in the little notch on the bulb... Might bite the bullet and get their LED ones, or better perhaps HID....

Trouble is the TUV approval here in Germany where i am based :(
