T6.1 Kombi 2+1 single seat lock broken

I have a T6.1 Kombi with a2 + 1 rear seat.
The single seat will not release as the cable has come out of it’s socket inside the lower part of the chair.
Any ideas anyone or is it a case of dismantle fully to release it and get an expert to rebuild it?
Update:
I have taken the seat out. The problem seems to be with the cable actuators. Getting the one that has come out of the bas part - back in - appears almost impossible, let alone locating a circlip to keep it in place.
Any seat frame rebuilders can advise?
Ta muchly.

If anyone did see this - or does in the future…. I ended up making a warranty claim. It appears that a whole new seat base was ordered and installed.

I have the same exact same problem. When I purchased the Van from VW the seat was in the repair shop. I checked and it appeared to work okay when I collected. It now longer works again and I think the van has just dipped out of its warranty if it is a standard 3 year ( I am checking). If I end up having to fix this outside of any warranty, I won't be happy for a 3Yr old van but any advice how to do a repair yourself (if possible) would be appreciated if anyone has gone through this.

Hi, I have the same issue and I'm still under warranty. Local authorised service centre said VW state this isn't covered under warranty as its related to cables? Don't suppose you have a warranty repair code/description on your paperwork for me to pursue this with?

Sadly no. My seat had to be partly dismantled to get it (by me) out so it was ‘just’ a case of reassembling the parts which they covered the cost of. I don’t know if it was swalled in other work costs done at the time.
I can go into the dealership and ask but I suspect it was more goodwill whilst genuine warranty work was done :(

No that's OK thanks, appreciate your reply. I've since been in touch with VW warranty directly and they now claim the repair is not allowed because seat frames are not covered! I asked whether seat internal mechanisms are categorised as seat frames and they've since gone quiet. We'll get there but from what I've read elsewhere, this is my welcome to the infamous VW customer service!

Hopefully this might help someone. When I purchased my T6 it had already had a life and the single seat wouldn’t fold forward. I read about others taking off the seat base and them manually popping the fold mech then gluing the pins in with a washer on the other side. Once apart I thought there was another option! I have released the spring on the outside and pressed the pin in from the other side then when you reconnect the spring the it holds the pin in. It was a January drive fix that’s given me no further issues. Cable sits at a slightly different angle but works fine.
