T6.1 Heater Actuator Arm Broken

Hi all

My blower is stuck and after reaching under the dash I can see that the actuator arm (white plastic piece) has broken again. VW replaced it under warranty when the van was new about 5 years ago so I will need to pay this time. I know that some have managed to change it with the dash in place but I think I'll need to find someone to do it for me, although I've just managed to move it so I have hot air blowing instead of cold. Does anyone know of anywhere close to Cardiff who could do this (the part is quite cheap and I can source).

on't know anywhere local to you, but there is a guy on eBay (and here I think) selling a better designed stronger one.

Hi all - I'm new to this forum & I'm pleased to be here!

I'd like to make the community aware of a new improved solution of heater motor linkage which I have spent some time developing. It's now finalised and I'm hoping it might help some of the good folk here.

This problem has been discussed on the forum before and there are existing solutions available. The symptoms are that your heating is stuck at a temperature and wont change. If this has happened to you then you probably already know VW don't sell a decent version on its own so a remanufactured one is the only cost effective...

I bought one from his eBay site in December - I have yet to get around to fitting it, but the part looks good and it arrived quickly.

As a bonus, the fitting instructions supplied with it are excellent and they should save me the usual round of trial/error/cursing when the time comes.

If you get stuck and fancy a drive to Stonehenge area, we do them regularly, genuine part plus a small mod to reduce it happening again,

Found the silly bit of white broken plastic under the pedals of my Caravelle and didn’t know what it was. Very glad I saved it just in case because things added up when the heater wouldn’t blow warm. Currently in an extended warranty with VW and so hoping they’ll fix for free but I have a feeling they’ll try to wriggle out. If so, I’d definitely make a trip south. Any idea of cost?

We are doing right this minute and many last week along with SOS faults
To supply and install new arm plus modification to reduce it happening again £200.00 plus vat
